Recall

BMW Throttle trouble may plague owners of some 2006 3 Series and 5 Series models. Upon startup, the ?service engine soon? light may illuminate. This may be accompanied by abnormal engine noise, heavy smoke or oil dripping from the exhaust. In TSB 120108 issued on Jan. 1, BMW explained that an incorrect air supply or a jammed actuator from the crankcase ventilation system might be depositing a small amount of moisture in the intake. This can be compounded if the vehicle sits idle for long periods, especially in freezing weather. The intake manifold, crankcase ventilation hose and drain hose may need to be replaced.
