Default Rear vent water ingress

How normal is this amount of water ingress through the rear vents, when parked in heavy rain?

Battery side is worse, except that I parked on a sideways angle so it was downhill. When parked with the battery side higher, I had a good half inch of water around the battery.

I've never had water come into my car but I've read it's common coming in some places if pipes are clogged. This is why the dealership relocated modules. But I haven't seen it in the battery area. Maybe your drain pipes need to be cleaned or check you trunk trimming.

I had more than that around my battery at one time. Seems like your drain pipe may be clogged.

Update, I finally got around to testing the sunroof drains. I did this using the "park on a slope, pour water into the channels on either side of the sunroof" method. Both fronts flow water freely, and one rear. The rear one that doesn't is the one on the battery side. So, seems like that is the next thing to do.

Bit of a design flaw there, with a small pipe and dirty water the failure mode should be non-damaging if you ask me.

Anyway. Also found that the sunroof can use some attention (I don't really use it, in fact I kind of dislike sunroofs)... it tends to need some manual help to close, whether it's from the slide open or just the tilt open position. edit: sunroof reset seems to have fixed the non closing, fingers crossed anyway.

Ive never seen an issue but I've always parked mine the the garage or lived in places without trees. I have seen a lot of people who has had issues that parked there cars around a lot of trees. To me I don't see it as a design flaw I see it as a lack of simple cleaning. The previous owners did not do a good job of the drain tubes are clogged

I'd agree if I didn't have to remove the rear wheels and inner guards to access the drain tubes, but I'll reserve judgment until I've actually done the job.
