Stupid question but the two power outlets on the back of the center console have a light ring around them when the exterior lamps are on... the one on the left is out. Is it just a bulb replacement? I am assuming the cover with the plugs and air vents just pops off?

The recent "center armrest console removal" thread contains a link to a thread which answers your question exactly. Here's the link:

I did see the link (after the fact) and i see how the cover comes off. I just didnt know if it was as easy as a bulb replacement.

Ah, I see what you mean. Looking @ realoem.com there's a "Luminous Ring" which has been "ENDED", and apparently no bulbs. Similar parts for other models appear to still be available. Looks lie a pretty simple fix if you can find the parts.

there is a bulb in there. I replaced mine. After you have the panel removed turn on your parking lights. You can follow the schematics of the one that is still illiminating to find the bulb and replace. Think I got my bulb at autozone or radioshack.

If I recall correctly the bulbs are on the far outerside of the sockets/rings they are covered in a whwite tube. Look ath the pic with the center piece out and look to the top far left piece attached to the left 12v socket and the right socket bulb is to the far right.

Really? So its not the Luminous Ring that has been discontinued? That must be what the bulb illuminates then... nice! I will take it apart this weekend.
Thanks Martin525i

look in pics

I think it is the black piece that is hanging on the side of the socket. It has a white tube going into it. The bulb was in there I believe.

Absolutely correct! My left bulb is out as well, and made a quick investigation yesterday which confirms your pictures.
