Rear end lowers?

My Ride: 2008 550i M-Tech Sport Package, Carbon Black, Black/Anthracite Bamboo
Have had my '08 550i (sport with SAT) since last October and a friend noticed that the rear end lowers when put into drive. Not much, about an inch and really only noticable outside the car. Haven't seen any discussions on this so wondering if this is a load leveling system that adjusts based on weight distribution?
