After looking at the photo I posted of gecko's car again, I'm noticing a slight difference in the wood color around the cubby.

I suppose it could be the angle of the light in the photo but I guess it could also be due to the wood being from a different "batch" hence a difference in overall color.

I think it's the lighting and the way the amethyst seat color is reflecting onto the cubby area.

There is always the chance that grain patterns and colors won't completely match if those pieces were stained with different lots of stain or whatever; but in this case, I think it's just the lighting
