Dazzpowder? there's a simple solution here, have you got basic or advanced air con, basic only blows fresh air from the rear centre vents.

I have the advanced, the manual says very little other than one wheel is for air flow the other for temperature, nothing about a dependency on the iDrive etc

My Tourer has the same problem. Why put a hot and cold sign on there and only blow out cold air?.....crap!

Maybe its the extra distance from the source of heat to the output that is the issue? Or maybe there is some weird/pointless setting somewhere causing the issue? Like the pointless settings for the centre vents.

It seems this is not a problem, but a "feature". Everybody has this "problem". Check F10 forums, they talk about it as well. Even E39 owners

Think about it:

- In automatic mode, the warm air always comes from the bottom
- Fresh air comes from the top to keep you fresh

Same goes for rear passengers where also warm air comes out from under the front seats (warming their feet).

But:
- It's still too cold in the back!
- The rotary wheel is pointless.

Once you turn on the manual climate mode, HOT air starts to blow in the rear vents too.

Thanks

So here is the answer for rear vent not blowing hot air. I had this issue too but I figured it out now. There’s a control there just make sure you switch from cold to hot air and set it up to the white bar Just like the attached picture.
