I've installed a set of Balo Rear Brake rotors on my 2007 550i. The rotors appear to be too thick out of the box, making contact with the fixed mount of the caliper and the dust shield. Has anyone else experienced this issue. The Balo box has two numbers #34 21 6 763 827 on the top of the box and #34 21 1 166 129 on the side.

Look inside the rotor hat and see if it maybe a front rotor and the rotors were swapped by mistake. It should be fully machined for the parking brake shoes, like your originals.
The part number of the box itself appears correct.

Definately a mistake, either the box was incorrectly labeled or relabeled. I picked the rotors up from a reputable local dealer. They fit so tight that they will cause damage to the rotors themselves, the fixed caliper mount and the dust shield. They cannot be correct. I've removed them and re-installed the original OEM's until I can get my hands on a set of replacements; I'll have to see what's available, but may be forced to go OEM. At least I'm getting some serious practise with brake work, I should be able to return the rotors, although it's going to cost me another set of pads when I get to start over again...
