Rear Arm Rest Stuck

My Ride: 05 525i xenons, premium package, non-nav
I'm having a little bit of a problem. The rear arm rest is completely stuck/locked. The release latch seems to be pressed down and had gotten jammed in that position. I do not have the ski-thru going into the truck or anything. Any help will be greatly appreciated I need to get this arm rest down lol. BTW if I were to take off the rear seats do you think this would help any?

Removing the rear seat won't get you anywhere I don't think. If the handle is pressed down - just try a pretty firm full on it?
