Ok, I searched for about an hour and didn't find any up to date info about this, so please don't flame.

Are there any plans to add any Euro-style real time traffic capabilities to our US nav systems at any point in the future? If so, will existing nav units be capable of the upgrade, or will it only be in new vehicles?

Thanks in advance.

Please, go to Europe and go to a BMW dealer.? Talk to some regular people in restaurants like I do.? Talk to people you do business with, like I do.? That is how I learned about these topics.

No it is not common for Germans or any Europeans to live in a single family free standing home, while it is common in the USA.

Because we don't have as much space as the US, so the ground is too expensive!

No a regular middle class guy in Europe does not drive a BMW let alone a 5 series; most likely a 3 series diesel if they can afford that.

REALLY?

Well, I'm the typicall middle class guy... Look at my signature! Thanks!

Iceman, the italics were supposed to emphasize the irony..... I'm not sure why you quoted my post, which was also expressing some annoyance at Doug's "perspective"

Well, if I simply go to bmw.de, the 525i is listed for 38,350 Euro and the 545i is 58,100 Euro............

I guess this kind of helps to answer my question... Hopefully this will integrate with the BMW nav:

Europe has all that "cool" stuff becuase all of the countries with that cool stuff are socialist countries with 8-15% unemployment.

Whats you definition of socialist?

Many people drive company cars.

The lucky 0.1%, maybe...nobody I know does. And if nobody can afford BMWs, why do they sell so many???

They tax gasoline so that it is over 5 EURO a gallon.

Yes

They have fast food just like America with MacDonalds and BK on every corner.

Yes, but you can still get decent food...

They also have HILLBILLYS and REDNECKS and lazy fat people that do not work.

Yes

They shop at Aldi in Germany and need to rush there after work becuase it closes at 8:00 (used to be 6:00).

Whats wrong with ALDI? Wal-Mart any better?

Most Northen Europeans live in Apartment blocks and have no yard, so they buy or rent a small plot of land in a park full of little shacks and that 10 ft by to foot piece of land is where they go on Sunday to drink beer and tend to the garden.

That was maybe 20 years ago or in very big cities. Most people I know own homes now. And if they live in a big city, I'd rather live in downtown Berlin than in downtown Detroit.....

Nice, but we have it better. Trust me, we have it much better.

Better in a different way.

I am in Europe 1 week a month, I have seen the nice fancy places, the dumpy places and the middle, and I can tell you, without any hesitation, that our standard of living is remarkable here in the USA as is our freedom.

Now I really disagree. People in most of Europe are better off with respect to freedom than we are in the US. You can speak your mind freely, and not immediately offent some church or minority or whatever.

On the downside, we have a lot of lazy, stupid people that live in poverty by their own choice and get involved with drugs, guns and crime and get handouts from the working middle class. The only difference between us and Europe is that our poor people are violent. South America and Africa have the violence likes the US, Europe has much less. That is true.

Yep.
