Its plastic, but why would you care? Its not like its vital for its functionality to be wood. It looks like wood, and this is what its there for - to look "like" wood. And as for the price - would you thik its is justified if it was wood rather than plastic? I really don't care....
Right on, I don't really give a sh*t. As long as it looks good and doesn't fade or crack.

The bottom line is I wouldn't do things like buy a MB because they have real wood but give me a SLR I would take it despite is a MB.

Than drive a couple of months sell it and probably buy a Ferrari or sth just a thought

it is real wood, Just a thin veneer. coated in plastic to protect it from fading and craking in the sun. My car has a different grain from other e60's I've been in. I think its look's nice. jaguar use wood veneer, a car company famous for its luxury leather and wood trim interiors...

I am sure there is real wood in the trim on both e60 and e46.

On the e46 it is completely encased in plastic and doesn't look real, but it IS a realwood veneer not a 'fake' photographic laminate (plastic look a like).

Same principle as with laminate flooring - you get realwood or plastic veneers.

I really do doubt the wood part.

Volvo actally got the court and got convicted for saying that their plastic wood imitations
where environmently produced wood.

At least my "woods" feels like cheap plastic.

I do not have laminated floors in my apartment and for a good reason.
