For the owners that have got TMC working on there cars, how good is TMC? Does it re-route you well? Or is sometimes its not worth it? So its better that you wait in traffic in 20 mins instead diverting that will take 50 mins?

The rerouting is very good, but the problem is, that some messages are too old. So sometimes there is no more traffic jam... In that case the rerouting is bad, but you don't know it...
I allready had situations were I said, "f*ck it" and didn't reroute, since I wasn't in a hurry... and surprise surprise... no more traffic jam... Also sometimes you don't get a message and there IS traffic jam...

The problem is, that those messages come from the radio stations. So they are not allways accurate! Sometimes even old, or you are too early and get stuck in traffic before they put a message in the TMC...

I use BMW Assists TMC (VI+), what is a little bit better.


TMC itself is great, but the ppl who write the messages aren't allways...

I would rate the TMC 10, but the ppl behind it who write the messages with 5...
Overall, with that human factor included, it's a 7. BMW Assists TMC (Vi+) is a 9 overall. IMHO...

How often do you listen to the TMC?

When I travel I usually have time and I'm not in a hurry. I also have TV in my cra, so traffic jams are not bad for me... So far I would say 10% only. I just try to avoid the really big ones...
