RDS not functioning with NAV?

My Ride: Current: 2000 Oriental Blue 528i, Steptronic, Beige Leather Interior Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, CD Changer Awaiting Delivery: 2005 530i, Titanium Gray with Black Leather, Steptronic, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, NAV, Xenon, SAT Radio, Aux Input, Euro Reflectors

HELP - I am picking up my new 530i today or tomorrow. The delaer is saying that since my car has NAV that the RDS fucntion of the radio will not work (I do NOT have Logic 7). They are saying the RDS function will not be fixed until software release 18 or 19!!!!!!!!!

Are they nutz? Has anyone experienced RDS not working with NAV? Am I screwed with no RDS since I have NAV?

It's a fact. Most of us have been having this problem since day 1.

This sucks. My ride has 15.2... The service guy is calling BMW now to find out what version will support RDS with NAV and when it will be available...

Ill update when I find out...

I picked up my 2005 530 on Friday last week with NAV, Premium, and Sound packages, and alas, the RDS doesn't work, weather band, NOR bluetooth. The dealer is lost on how to fix these things it seems... it's back at the shop now and they're 'searching' for an answer... any tips on the BT and/or software version issues?

How can I tell which version software is on the car... .geez.. ..starting to feel like I'm driving a router or something.

I believe it when I see it.
What is so difficult about getting RDS to work with Nav, anyway?

Every cheapo radio in Europe has RDS. That is ancient technology.

My Ride: 530d (Jan 2005) premium pack, pro nav, steptronic

Is RDS different between US and Europe ? I am using RDS and NAV without any problem (built 1/2005 - V16.0).
Just a small bug with TMC (traffic information system) but I think you don't use this in the US.
