I have a random question for all of you... I notice when I'm REALLY accelerating with some lead foot (in my 05 530i) using the shifting option on my automatic that when I attempt to shift from 2nd to 3rd at high RPM's it shifts then shifts RIGHT BACK down to 2nd causing extremely high RPM's for a brief 1-2 seconds till I shift AGAIN to 3rd and it sticks... Anyone else have this issue? Any way of fixing it? I don't usually get the opportunity to drive hard enough from 3rd to 4th to know if it does it there too but it's quite annoying to get up to about 5k RPM's and shift just to have the tranny auto-shift back down to 2nd while I'm still gassing it.

Ummm Just a side question are you sure you are upshifting and not trying to downshift? Are you pulling or pushing the lever when you try to shift from 2 to 3?
I know its far fetched but...
I'm asking cuz what it sounds like is you are trying to downshift to 1st and the transmission doesnt like it and goes back to 2nd and by then you've reached redline and the tranny now is automatically upshifting to 3rd for you.
