Default Random question on xDrives -- HDC

Random question, i was coding my car as part of a CIC retrofit and it recoded the display to have a HDC icon. Hill Descent Control (HDC) is normally found on X5s. However i noticed it is also marked marked active in the CAPPL module.

Do i have 5 series xdrives have this? should i just recode it inactive in KOMBI?

my 07 E61 has HDC. it can be turned on through the iDrive and programmed to one of the steering wheel buttons.

can you tell me what it does and where exactly you find it in the idrive settings? I have never seen it, but CAPPL module says I have it, and it is not something that I messed with ...

at the main menu, if you push the iDrive button down to access the settings menu, and then go to vehicle/tires, i believe its one of the sub menus.

here's a description....i've never used the feature.

the difference is I have a CIC navigation system with Idrive, not the CCC nav system with Idrive.

when I retrofitted the CIC into my car, I lost the ability to turn HDC on and off. my question is how to people with CIC do it?

I also just retrofitted CIC and found the same issue. I believe BMW added an HDC button to the steering wheel in 2010 when CIC came out on E60's so it might not be possible for us to enable it through the CIC.

Default HDC still works for me after CIC retrofit

So I just went to my car and found that the lower programmable button on my steering wheel still turns on HDC when pressed. I don’t see anything on the iDrive but an HDC logo appears in the instrument cluster display. Not sure if this works the same for others or if it’s because I possibly had that button programmed that way previously with my MASK unit.
