Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum.
Anyway, last night, as I was coming onto the freeway from the onramp, I ran into 6"X6" wood pole that was about 8 feet long. I was driving about 70 mph when I did this. I pulled over, looked at the front of the car and everything looked normal, got back in the car and started driving back home, about ten minutes later, the flat tire light came on and the car started running a little rough everytime I hit a bump. I pulled over to see what was going on and noticed that the driver's side wheel was bent about 10 -15% into the fender and the car looked like it was riding about 3" lower on that side. I looked behind the rim and tire and noticed that there was an oil-like substance or drake fluid everywhere... I can see that the shock is bent. Everything else looks OK but does anyone know what else can be broken that I may not see? This really sucks!

Aside from the 6"X6" wood pole?? Hard to say, take it to the dealer and let them investigate! Sorry for your bad luck there!

Yup, it does suck, I feel like this is something that used to happen to me when I was 18...lol.
Anyway, I filled a claim already. Since the front bumper got damaged I was thinking of purchassing an M5 or similar type bumper instead of fixing the thing...

you if the rim is bent and the is some kind of greasy stuff,, it possibly mite be the inner tie rod, if your cars a all wheel drive then it mite be the axle in the front, Id recomend you to take your car to an allignment after you fix your rim, the front end of the e60 is made of aluminum and tends to get frame damage from impacts. Let me know whats goin on.

Well, I took the car to BMW and the damages without the body work are ii excess of $11K... That's crazy for just running over a wood pole...
