My windshield wipers are very erratic in the sensor mode. I find I usually have to make adjustments to get them to wipe the windshield unless I am travelling above 40 mph. In traffic, they seem to just do nothing. Is this a problem anyone else has had?

Yeah, lots of people. The rain sensor is quite unsatisfactory in a lot of people's opinion - I am not totally happy with it but I still use it.

I have to disagree. I'm totaly happy with my rainwiper sensor. It is the best I've experienced so far. Much better then VW has.
So far I have never used any other position or speed on my wiper switch, I only use the automatic sensor and it is doing great job.

Sorry for high jacking your post

Completely agree. Rain sensor is wildly erratic and wipes in just the opposite of what needs to be done. It shuts completely off if you are stopped (and just how are you supposed to see traffic ahead), and then immediately goes full force once you start off & keeps that way for a bit, then dies completely down again. Thank god it doesn't work this way in my Range Rover. They seem to have gotten it right.
