Hi guys. My M-ASK radio has a problem, it drains my battery overnight. So now i need to replace it.
My question is can i install an aftermarket radio unit instead? And if so, will this work with the idrive system?
Or should i just buy a used original one?
Any help apreciated.

 

Anyone correct me if I am wrong. Your radio system is part of the iDrive. You can put an after market radio in your car but it will not be able to connect to your iDrive. You will then have to figure out where to put it depending on the options you have in the car. Your best option is to buy a used one or while you are looking at replacing it upgrade it to the a newer iDrive system. It is pricy but its worth it in the end.
