My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.
I recently have had the problem with my radio cutting out. I had a radar detector installed in the summer but recently it has been beeping (one beep) and/or displaying "hi volts" and "low volts" in its display. Both happens when I shift. I had the guy that installed the detector look at the radar connection, he said it was fine but moved it from the fuse box under the steering column to the cigarette lighter on the passenger side. Same thing happens.
He did notice that if you sit idling and rev the motor the courtesy lights below the door fluctuate in brightness and the detector beeps.
Anyone have any experience or opinions with this?

No problems here, pennetta. I am hardwired into the yellow green 12V switched wire going into the rain sensor. Maybe you have a serious short somewhere in your system.
