hi...i hv logic 7...but car is not delivered. is there a feature on the sound system that increases the volume as the road noise increases with speed? i seemed to hv read that before...pls advise.

Yes, you can set it in Idrive under Entertainment settings...Audio...Speed volume

Is that with L7 only or the standard radio as well? I do have the Pro Nav, if that makes a difference.

I still have more than a month before I get mine.

My 545i hasn't arrived yet either, but it appears in the manual to be available with or without Logic7. Speed Volume is grouped together with basic audio settings like treble/bass and balance/fade.

i have the bus nav / prof radio and yes, with that config at least, the volume/speed setting is there

so how does the system detect the level of unwanted noise so as to automatically adjust the volume up?

No idea - but i believe the iDrive says "Speed dependent volume". My guess is that the automatic volume adjustment happens in proportion with speed increase/decrease.
