Peter,
If the sensor is placed in the front bumper, dirt and mud will cover the sensor over the time and it'll lose its effectiveness.
Absolutely not my experience with three cars, including two current ones. If you wash your car, you wash your sensors.

Hmm
Spring, summer and fall are OK, but winter? Boy, snow dirt from the road would block the sensor unless you need to pray it every day during winter time.

I don't think this is an argument against remote/bumper sensors..... unless you do some off-roading....
I wash my winshield and the headlings with clean wather every day during dirty winter anyway so I can just poor a little water over those..... those washers and wipers are not good enough in tough winter......

PDC sensors work fine during all the winter mess as well

Try radarjammers.com have both typical all in one unit or units where install sensor in front/rear. I bought the RMR-C450 radar jammer/detector for $249.00 and saved me couple times. Itg worked great while I used the cig lighter power plug, but I did hard wire install per instruction by guy on this forum on my 545 and apparenlty the manufacturer had the wires crossed in the directions. So I ended up plugging in reversed polarity and now unit won't turn on. I emailed cust service and they responded back and said send unit back under warranty. So we'll see how it goes. I didn't tell them about the hard wire install thinking they would think my fault. The top end unit with the front and read bumper sensors is $599.00
