For a repair so big I'd get a second opinion. I went to and indy to diagnose a noise I couldnt figure out what it was. He told me my subframe bushings were shot 2k plus repair. Went and got a second opinion turned out to be motor mounts. Swapped both of them myself.

You should get a remanufactured ZF unit. Most of the repair job is going to be the labor charge because you have to lower the subframe to get the steering rack out of the car. If you need motor mounts then now is the time to do it.
