My Ride: 09 550i 6sp M-Tech. 18mm spacers rear, 8mm front. Dinan intake and Stage 2 tune. Tinted tails, M5 OEM lip spoiler.

From what ive seen for the set up for the 07 550i there's only one muffler with duals coming out then a connector pipe coming to the other side with a dual tip attached. ..

These motors are very backpressure dependent. Tune is optimized for a specific backpressure. When you change the exhaust system you will affect backpressure. Determining the change is something you can do by instrumentation on a dyno. Adjusting the flow restriction to get back to the backpressure the tune was created for will get your power back. It's not enough of a change for me to go through the trouble. Especially if it makes it louder. Honestly just don't want to hear it from the wife.

What if it's a portion of exhaust pipe that is connected to the main part near the belly and redirected to the non exhaust side with a dual tip added. Would that interfere with back preasure?
