Ok guys, I am on the verge of getting a 5 series and I have a few questions. I have received some answers from dealers but just want to make sure from you guys before I figure it all out.

1) fully loaded comes with Navigation, Sports package, Premium package correct? While options like sensors for reversing, heated seats, and Navigation are all options outside of those 2 packages.

Also, how the heck do you adjust the head rest, the one that is on the sports package, it like folds in not, the adjusting one with the button thing on the side.

Also, can i upgrade to new Navigation by downloading it onto a CD? than do i just put that CD in or I download it into the Navi HD?

1 - "fully loaded" means you car has every available factory installed option. There are many more options on the 5er that are separate from any package. If you get NAV, Sport, and Premium its a good start.

2 - I think that only the comfort seats have the "fold in" head rest - and they only come as a separate option or with the premium package. If the car doesn't have either of these options then you have the base seats which I don't think adjust the way you described

3- I can't answer for the HD Navi upgrade. Maybe somebody else with a 2010 5er can chime in.

I had comfort seats in my 745...the headrest are adjusted by a botton on the center console...the back headrest come out, when somebody sits down in the back seat.
Both are power options, so no possibility to adjust by hand..

Navi can only be upgraded with a software update (look and feel, maps and so on...)

Because of the different packages you guys have, compared to europe, can't say much about them

1) what are the other options do you know?

2) yes that is true, I am wondering how you fold it, is it via button on teh side of the chair or what. I spent 1 hr looking for it and found nothing and I am sure it folds because the driver seats was folded while the passenger one wasn't.

What year and model are you looking at?

There is no official "fully loaded" set of options. Some of the packages in the US would be cold weather, premium, sport, and m sport for a late 2009 or 2010 model. The 2011 models have even more packages.

On 2010 model:
Premium package
Cold weather package
Sport package
M sport package
Value package
Night vision
Active cruise control
Comfort access
Sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters
Front ventilated seats
Fold down rear seats
Heated rear seats
Park distance control
Navigation
Heads up display
HD radio
Satellite radio
Premium hi-fi system
Auto high beams
Lane departure warning
Xenon headlights
Comfort seats
Active steering

These are all the ones that I could think of.

Keep in mind this was on a E65 7 series, which has an interior that is way different than the E60...
It was to illustrate that comfort seats probably have headrests that are power operated instead of manual...maybe on the bottom side of the seat?
In my E60 I have normal seats, so don't know where they are...
