My Ride: 2008 M5 -- Exterior: Silverstone, Interior: Black. Fully Loaded. That just about sums it up! :-)

They do---when you go to build your 5 series, step 4 is "Accessories"....then there are words at the bottom: Wheels, Interior, and Exterior. These are actually tabs (though it's hard to tell)---click on Exterior and the M Aero Kit option appears as the far right option.

It's easy to miss if you don't know to CLICK on Exterior.

Hope that helps.

It's also shown on the U.S. 2006 5-Series Accessories catalog. Front cover photo and pricing on the inside of the catalog.

My favorite attribute to these mid-year "upgrades" is their legal department statement that bascially sez: "Don't pay any attention to the calendar; the model year is what we say it is."

You have to read it to believe it.

I know it's all marketing gobblety-gook here in the States, but isn't it better to have a car that you can call an MY06, if only for resale purposes??

Yes. and any E60 built after March 2005 is called a Model Year 2006 already. Just like the Infiniti G35/45. So either way it'll have the MY06 re-sale value.
