Only just noticed tonight that my 530d 05 when on the first setting on the headlights my car has what looks like angel eyes, then when i
turn to the next setting, the main lights, they just look like normal lights also the same with the main full beam
Is this normal?

I always just keep mine on auto, but if I'm correct the first setting is your dash lights and angel eyes, the second should be your headlights for night driving. They may be the same/similar to your highbeams if you don't have xenons

I'm gonna quickly add my question, is there anyway to turn off all the lights, angel eyes included? Suppose at night you wanted your car on, but not any type of light? Auto puts them on, the next one still leaves the angel eyes on. I need those off sometimes.

So is there no such thing as main beam or Full beam angel eyes?
Does every e60 come with angel eyes as a first light setting?

With the lastest version of software you have a new item in the "light" men? of the idrive, is called also like "diurnal light", of turned "on" the Angel Eyes are alwais on. In the newest cars, the diurnal light use the Angel Eyes with a more powerfull light intensity.

If you choose "diurnal light: off" in the light men?, when you put the switch in "0" position, all the lights must be off.

The Angel eyes come on with the first setting and stay on for the rest of the light settings(main and full beam). There should be a lights off setting on the switch though that turns them all off.

My lights have angel eyes with the 1st setting , and then when i switch to main or full setting they revert to normal headlights, not the angel eye look

Maybe i was wrong then. I was under the impression that the angel eyes acted as sidelights and stayed lit with the main/full beam(i know they do with the LCI but assumed the older models were the same, they stay on with the E39s too).

Just disable your DRL's via iDrive. The light switch in the off position should not have the AE's on anymore...

On a stakeout or stalking someone in your e60?

AE's stay on at a dimmer setting on LCI's with the main/full beam....
