Glad we were able to convice you -- keep in mind that I don't know how well the car will support the Creative Labs player (you meant GB, not MB, right?).

If for some reason it doesn't work well, you still have a ton of options to play music through the interface.

note: Be sure to have your dealer order the iPod interface cable and have them give it to you before you go to pick up the car. The cable is included in the cost of the interface but many dealers don't know this and try to charge you $50 more for the cable. If you don't plan on using an iPod while on ED, you don't need to take it with you...

I am interested in this comment. Does anyone know if the same is true for cars supplied in UK & Europe - is the cable also included in the cost of the option?

I have it, use it for my ipod, and love it. It blows away any other interface I have seen in other cars. You have your entire music library at your fingertips, and that is invaluable. It's a 'must have' if you like your music. 3 additional points: 1. it is very distracting so use it carefully (scrolling through playlists, etc. takes most of your focus and concentration off of the road) 2. if the ipod integration has a fault, it's that the entire playlist disappears off of the screen once you turn the car off. Yes, it picks up where it left off once you start the car, but the playlist is gone, off of the screen. It can be a little annoying, but overall the interface is so great that it's forgivable. 3. The random feature has a short memory. Once you start the car again, make sure to re-start the random function again as it will forget. Remember, it may not be 100% perfect, but it is overall such a wonderful interface and so user friendly that, for me, it's an absolute must have.

Good luck.

From what I understand from this forum, and in my experience, the cable is free in the US but must be purchased in UK/Europe. US customers who take delivery in Europe must be given their cable in the US before their trip so that they can enjoy the music there without having to pay for the cable. When I bought my car, the cable wasn't in the car, but the salesperson retrieved one from the parts department for me.

Bottom line, it's a great option and really worth it. Don't bother getting a CD changer -- get the USB!

Pheesh! Now you tell me. Can I still trade in my worthless $800 CD changer for the $400 iPod USB interface?

Damn Right! I'd make that trade as well. I have dropped the CD changer for the iPod changer and am pleased. Such are the joys of being an early adopter...

Sorry guys! I almost added the CD changer to my car (or considered moving it from the old car to the new one) but soon realized it wasn't worth it and I rarely used the changer even before I had the USB interface!

Had I known earlier, I surely would've given you guys an advanced warning!
