I am a newbie here just to get that out of the way. I have been lurking around the forum for quite some time now but I figured it's time to start participating in the festivities. I have an 06' 530i on the way which is scheduled for port arrival on 3/18/06 in California. I have read all these topics and posts about CIP updates and what they solve or don't solve. Before I take delivery, can I request the CIP be updated to the most current version or is this already done before delivery? Thanks for the info.
Check the car out throughly make sure everything is right before you sign anything.

I already printed out the 'day of delivery checklist' so I know that will help tremendously. I would have forgot something for sure if I wasnt taking that checklist with me.

I have learned so much about the E60 without even taking delivery of it yet because of all the helpful people in the forum. Thanks to all.

Hi welcome

You will not regret it, speaking from an owner that switch from E39 to E60 point of view

I've heard alot of E39 drivers don't even want to get near an E60 like it's the plague or something. I'm excited for the change. I love my E39 but the styling is a little outdated. The wait from order to delivery is not as hard to deal with when your already driving a 5, even if it is an E39.

Calzona is right; this forum should be standard reading for anyone considering a new BMW. Its made my life 100% easier and got me my car, with all the exact options I need, for $1500 over invoice. Dealer says I saved about $4,500 off MSRP.

I wish I had this kind of information when I bought my 03' E39. I'm not sure if Bimmerfest was around back in 02'. Personally, I like e60.net better than bimmerfest but thats just my own opinion.
