I've just ordered a set of aftermarket wheels from the internet, I went to my local tires shop to buy the tires and have them mounted, however I was told they would not put the tires on my car due to legal issues (they would balance and mount them), my question. Could I just swap out the wheels myself or do I need to bring them to the deal for an alignment and reset any type of air pressure sensor? I did call another local tire shop and they also said the same thing.

Thanks.

What year and model is your car? Btw, update your profile with location so that others can assist you better.

I've never heard of someone refusing to install rims just because they're aftermarket? Anyone else here experience this?

I'm buying these tires in CT. I have 17" wheels on them now and I've upgraded them to 18x8" (thought of 19" but the some of the roads here are not the best here), and the tires are 245/40R18 93W BFGoodrich - g-Force? Sport. Thanks for the advice. My car is a 2005 530i.
