I am placing an order for a 2006 525xi this week. I have spent hours reading this board (which has been tremendously helpful), but there are still 2 questions that I cannot find the answers to.

I realize that the difference between the standard audio system in the US and the Logic7 is the addition of 3 more speakers, DSP processing and a CD changer. However, does anybody know whether:
1. The actual amplifier that is used in the Logic7 system is the same as in the standard system or is it more powerful/of higher quality?
2. The 10 speakers that are shared by both systems, are they the same, or again, are they of higher quality on the Logic7?

Thanks in advance

Hello

1) With the Standard USA audio system the amplifer only powers the 2 Subwoofers with a power of 2x40W the other speakers are powered by the headunit with a power of 25W per channel ( 10 speakers in all)

With logic 7 the amplifier powers all the speakers at a power of 7x40W and 2x70W

2) The logic speakers are all more powerfull than the standard system ones

Thank you so much for your answer. This makes my decision regarding which system to get a no-brainer (Logic7 of course!). I was initially going to get an aftermarket audio system, but after finding out how difficult (and expensive) that is to install on the E60, I just decided to go with the OEM system.
Again, appreciate your help.

I just picked up my 2006 530i with logic 7 - it is a huge improvement over the stock USA system that I had with my 2005 530i. Well worth it now that I have heard it!

Yes, Logic 7 is superior over the base system.

since the L7 speakers are of better quality than the stock speakers, is it possible to swap out the tweeters and mids?
