QUAD PROJECTOR RETROFIT ON MY E61: A few photos
I couldn't resist cracking open my headlights, the oem angel eyes and projector performance leaves much room for improvement. After ordering a set of Mini H1 (MH1) projectors for a retrofit in my girlfriends Prius, I decided to order a pair for myself and stuff them into the housing for my angel eyes and cornering light, which we both know are useless.
The project was a lot of work but also a lot of reward. I snapped a couple photos of the end result. Once I receive my replacement wiring harness/relay and my passenger side MH1 becomes operational, I will post some better cutoff and light output shots.

Mods are as follows:
- oem projector STI-R clear lens swap. spaced +9mm
- Mini H1 (oem angel eye and corner light delete)
- HD Relay
- 55w DDM + Morimoto 5Five 5k
- 35w Morimoto DSP + DDM 5k
- Orion V2: Custom "Horse Shoe" design
- Frosted Fins
- Aluminum oem shroud
- Flat black everything else
- Cree XB-D Amber turn signal bulb

Thanks for the kind words.
Booyaazaa: Your lights look great. I was hesitant to go through with the blacked out look since it is abused on many cars but done correctly, works. I actually went through a couple phases with mine before settling on this appearance. One involved only running an outer angel eye and another have the whole headlight painted aluminum (like the oem shroud) but they didn't look right. I kind of wish I painted the oem shroud white but the aluminum does match my intercooler.
I am so pleased I went through with this mod: to having legit angel eyes, a custom look, and far superior light performance these headlights really satisfy in many ways.
Now the girlfriend's Prius goes under the knife!
Here is another photo,

I did not the only warning(s) received are for the angel eyes, I ditched the wiring harness and tapped them directly into the preexisting wiring presumably bypassing the resistor built into the harness, and since they are low voltage I will need to code them out. I also plan to run a trigger wire from the interior lights so the AEs fade on/off.
