My Ride: 2004 545i - 6 speed manual (July 04 build), silver-grey/black, sports package std equipment (18", active roll, active steering, adaptive headlights), premium sound, bluetooth enabled, folding rear seat, lumbar, 3m hood/bumper protective film, rear tint, euro reflectors.

My car was in last week and I got new tires. They took measurements and opened a PUMA case. BMW came back saying they would pay for half since I was about 11K miles into the tires. I do remember one day going into work that they all of a sudden sounded REALLY loud. That was about 8k miles. The next 3K miles is when I really noticed the tread wear on the insides, mostly on the front but some on the back too. As a side note, the new Dunlops sound quite and ride well, maybe better than when I first drove the car.

I am waiting for the dealer to get a new set of Dunlops. How can you tell the new improved over the old POS's?

10,000 miles is the cut off point where BMWNA will cover 100%. My dealer stated that rule within reason based on VIN# and submitted PUMA Case, etc. BMW covered 100% at 16,500 miles for me- I believe my dealer picked up the other 50%. I have new Dunlop DSST RFs apparently, the same make model as before however, Dunlop has re-egineered them and they feel great - it's what BMWNA instructed my dealer to order product IDs and all...hopefully, they last!
