So Ive burnt a few MP3 discs for my e60 and I LOVE the setup. Im so happy my car plays MP# my default and I didnt have to rig it to do so.
My question is this though - the MP# discs always just display filenames instead of the track info im TRYING to get to show up (like when i use my ipod as CD2, CD3...etc )
Does anyone have a preferred method of gtetting track information to show up correctly instead of the first 8 characters of my filenames (
) ?

If you are limited to 8 characters in the filename, it sounds like you have this file system format on your CD-R: ISO 9660, Mode 1, Level 1 (filename max of 11 = 8 + 3 chars).
My MP3 discs are burned using the Nero software. The file system format during burning is ISO 9660, Mode 1, Level 2 (filename max of 31 chars). The file system format ISO 9660:1999 should also work as it has a filename max of 207 chars.
The filesystem structure looks like this: (artist / album title)
\
????Brian Culbertson
? ????After Hours
? ????Bringing Back The Funk
? ????Come On Up
? ????It's On Tonight
? ????Long Night Out
? ????Modern Life
? ????Nice & Slow
? ????Secrets
? ????Somethin' Bout Love
????Euge Groove
????Born 2 Groove
????Euge Groove
????Just Feels Right
????Livin' Large
????Play Date
The MP3 track files are store within the album title folder, e.g.:
01 Take Your Time.mp3
02 Close To You.mp3
03 After Hours.mp3
06 Inside Pocket.mp3
07 And The Night Comes.mp3
09 Daybreak.mp3
The MP3 tags are in ID3v2 format. The ID3v1 format should work too.
This file:
\Brian Culbertson\After Hours\01 Take Your Time.mp3
shows up in the CCC Entertainment listing as:
01 Take Your Time
When it is playing, the MP3 artist and track title is displayed:
Brian Culbertson
Take Your Time
Incidentally, my music library collection is my iTunes Music library, so all I'm doing is selecting the desired *.mp3 files to the Nero CD-R compilation to burn to disc.
Hope this helps.
