Hello,

Here is a little bit tricky case for You genius guys.
I have installed lumbar support mechanics & electronics to my standard memory seats for driver seat only.
The installation have been tested with aftermarket tester, and everything in h/w side looks ok.
Now comes the hard part: Local BMW dealer could not reprogram the feature to it. My car was first upgraded with latest version of CIP, or what it is called. Then they tried to retrofit that lumbar support. It gave the attached message and stopped. The module which is installed (61356927319) is the same that programmer is expecting (6927313).
How ISTA can be forced to accept that installed module (61356927319)? Any idea?
I have a friend in Münich in BMW, but he could not either help me anymore.
My car is manufaxtured in 3/2004 and equipped with standard memory seats with ventilation. Now the drivers seat has also this lumbar support mechanics, different switch panel and that memory module + wiring.

The sheet you attached to your post indicates that they tried to program 6927318 [Driver SMFA] and 6927272 [Passenger SMBF].

6927318 is not equal to 6927313.
61356927318 (and 61356927319) seat modules DO NOT have lumbar support control.
61356927313 is the seat module that DOES HAVE lumbar support control.

You need to replace the seat module.

Ok, I call back to my friend who's working in BMW in Münich. He claimed that all the mentioned modules are basically (electronically) the same.
When I toggle the 4-way switch form the switch panel, the lumbar motor actually wakes up for a millisecond. So I assume that the electronic part should be ok. This whole mess is very confusing...
I also have Climate function, in which www.realoem.com tells that this 313 does not support.
I have also idea that the ISTA might expect both modules to be the same, eventhough passenger does not have the lumbar function installed.

The 'electronics' are all the same, absolutely. But each module contains a firmware that will only accept certain firmware updates. Thus, the update will not work. I also believe that you are correct; the update will only work if you have matching modules.

Realoem lists 61356927319 as having climate controls...

Ha haa, some progress with this one:
The valve unit which was sold to me was frong type. Quite hard to describe in short, but in manual lumbar system, there is only 4-wires coming in to that valve unit; alltough there is 4-valves inside. In memory seat there is 5-wires (one for each valve + earth). The whole thing came out when we tried to test this with DIS, telling that one valve is broken or malfuntioning. Anyway, I was too anxious to order correct one: I opened the valve unit and resoldered connections (first testing which valves should act in which connections) plus installed one pin in to the connector.
Now, the lumbar support is funtioning perfectly
There is still the climate funtion problem. I return on that when some I have news to tell.

But: as a conclude: adding lumbar support afterwards to memory seats is allmost piece of cake, if You have right parts at the beginning.

Hi Jaki, Google guided me here.

I'm also retrofitting lumbar support to my F10 535d.

Please refer to this article written by me long time ago ;; https://5series.net/forums/topic/112...1#entry1334896

I purchased all the items, recently installed by many of trials of errors. I think all the wiring done correctly, but it doesn't work anyway.
Does it require any re-programming of modules ? I'm not figuring out what the problems are. I think your experience might help me.

Any advice ?
