I just upgraded to 24.02 and no eyebrows. There also appears to be some bug in the RDS. When I first turned on RDS some station names came up as the songs or artists they were playing at the time. For instance, one station now appears as "Audioslave" as that artist was playing and one appears as "Patience" as the Guns n Roses song by that title was playing. I've turned the RDS off and on several times and those station names are locked in - I can't get them to search again for the the correct name.

Whoever is in charge of QA for software at BMW is obviously not testing thoroughly.

Hi gents,

so, I had problem with my independent heating. After change of heater equipment as a matter of course upgrade CIP (I think 24.00, but I'm not sure.) eyebrows was go out and start problem with my information display means contrast. Intensity of contrast is sometime at 100% but I set up only 50% or less and sometime it works fine. After next service visit display equipment was change, but the problem with contrast intensity is still alive . Now I have the newest version CIP 24.01 but there are still problems with contrast and eyebrows. It's realy funny, that BMW lunch the newest version without propper internal testing :'( Sometime I feel that the owner of BMW Munich is Bill Gates. It's really funny that I go to service with one issue and return with two issues...

I took my car in on December 28, 2006 to have the upgrade to fix the eyebrow issues. Dealer installed 24.01 and eyebrows did not work. They then installed 24.00 and the eyebrows work. Not sure why they would have a 24.01 that doesn't keep the same fixes as 24.00.

Have them try 24.00 to get the eyebrows fixed. Not sure what 24.01 is supposed to fix.

I've had the exact RDS issue you describe ever since RDS was enabled back in CIP 13.xx or whatever it was - it's never really worked correctly.

Hey, you can have some fun with it if you time it right - one of my stations is labeled "Skynard", another is "BONE" --- just imagine the possibilties!

TX Pearl - I guess you have to have a sense of humor with the E60. Coming from an E46 M3, I just didn't have all these little computer issues - and I'm starting to get a little aggravated with BMW. My wife's A6 has been a dream...

Current issues with my car include no eyebrows, a semifunctional RDS system and a weird boot-up that seems unique with each start. My car didn't have two of those issues before going in for the software "upgrade".
