Is there a way to check the version of the software without calling the Service Dept?

Well it may even be worse than that. Your dealer may not even have on record what version you have and not able to tell unless hooked up to the GTI or SSSR at the service center to see where one is at. An educated guess can be made based on last know update date, but that is a little shakey to be sure. I keep a list posted in a stickey in dealer service forum, which I will be updating soon.
