1st error: the rear right brake. the inner part doesnt light. thus giving the malfunction display. should the whole housing need to go? or just bulbs needs to be replace? i smell $$$$

2nd error: Passenger Restraint malfunction.. is this direct swap requiring tools..

3rd problem: on my bumper, right fog light, the black plastic grill that fills that space.. is missing.

firstly....you still under warranty or no? since you have an 04 i thought you might have some left. car a CPO? purchase a warranty/maintenance plan?

if so go to your dealer; if not the 3rd problem go to realoem.com and look for the part number and source it either through your dealer or online.

1st problem, probably a light, also check the connection it may have just be unplugged or whatever

2nd problem you might need them to read out a code for you

First, welcome to the forum. Relax, none of these is serious.

1. Just replace the bulb. Do a Google search for the DIY instructions.
2. BMW is recalling 200,000 cars with this problem (if it's the airbag plate). Your dealership will fix it for free starting next month.
3. Look at the sticky at the top of the parts category and order the missing piece from Garry at a discount. Or, a member who has replaced his stock bumper may sell you the part.

Good luck.

thank you so much guys for the input.
1. i have found the part on realoem but i was a little bit confused on the bulbs that were present on the picture dissected.

it is on the right lamp tho, but it only shows total of 3 bulbs? i thought there were more. but then if 1 bulb is 1 part inner or outer then i guess, i only need one bulb to replace.
2. i read the details on the recall but i just wonder if i qualify. it didnt mention anything about passenger restraint malfunction, just the passenger airbag light. but a trip to the dealer wont hurt.
3. and finally i saw the part number.

thank you so much guys for the help!!

page 186 on your manual is a good reference as well for the brake lights...

e60.net also provides the manuals online...
