Hello, I am having problems with my rear door lock, not locking when I start to drive. It occasionally want to do so, but majority of the time it does not. I can lock it with the remote key, but when I press the central locking system, it sometimes will not also. I can hear the sound of the door motors trying to lock, but it doesnt.

I have taken it to diagnose at BMW and they cannot figure it out, fortunately it is still under warranty, but the first time they cannot figure it out and replace the rear door locking mechanisms. I will be taking it in again, this week, but I just wanted to see if anybody has had this situation happen to it, my car has 40k mileage on it. Thanks in advance.

Do you happen to know what software version you're running?

I really appreciate the link, it at least lets me know I am not alone. I do not know what software I have in the car, but I will definitely find out from the dealer when I bring it in for them to try to figure out the problem. I will also request to have the software updated and hope that will be the solve of the problem. I will post any updates so it can help others in the future.

i was one of those affected after upgrading to CIP19. Went back and updated to CIP21 and the problem just disappeared. I have a feeling that I was probably lucky.

I got my car back, they upgraded to the newest software version, and said it did not fix the problem, and they finally found out it was a voltage solenoid that was faulty. they replaced it, and its been about 4 days now and not a problem at all, car is back to normal now.
