Yea the gap was there only after I opened the hood and tried to close it cause the latch on the driver side wasn't catching, so every time i open the hood i have to press on the front where the BMW emblem is to get the main latch and passenger side latch to catch then press separately on the driver side of the hood to get the 3 driver side latch to catch then the hood lines up perfectly, just annoying to have to go that extra step to get the hood to close correctly. I guess I'm not the only one having trouble with the hood and having to give extra effort to get all 3 latches to close correctly. Well i'll have them check it out when i go to bmw soon anyway cause im having trouble with my throttle response at the moment, it's pretty laggy.

I had the same problem. I had the dealer check it out and they made some minor adjustments and now it closes perfect on both sides.

It shouldn't be anything major.

im having the same problem with my '04 530i but the gap doesnt seem to be from a particular side, it is most noticeable in the middle where the bmw emblem. i tried pushing the hood down from the middle it travels a bit down but when i leave it goes up again (although it is securly closed) i told the dealer about once but they told me its normal!!! (yeah i know .. but its the only dealer in kuwait)
any thoughts ?!

IT IS normal

I know it looks a bit odd, but there will always bee a small yet visible gap. It is just how it was designed to be.
