I think its looks briliant, I love the sweeping lines, but at the same time it looks square. Its going to be a very popular model once again. BMW really took a risk with all there models take on so different shapes from the norm, but i think its really going to be worth it.

Life is about having fun, but is also about having a certain type of "presence," ARG. My 330 was a great car, and damn fun to drive. However, my 545 is a great car; more fun to drive; and also commands a certain sense of respect anywhere and everywhere I drive it.

It's like the difference between driving a Camaro and a 330, but on another level. Comprende?

Don't like the tail lights?? Look at the E90 in silver or white...the tail lights take on a better shape IMHO.? Sport package...I assume you infer that there will be no "active roll stabilization" or Dynamic Drive as they call it across the pond in the E90.? It may be that the car is less likely to benefit from it as in the 5 and 7.? The smaller the car the less rock and roll?

I've owned the E46 3 and the new E60 5.? The 3 is more fun to drive.? The 5 is more comfortable, quieter, and more prestigious....I expect the E90 will continue to be the "purest" BMW in terms of driver involvement with the road.? If you don't need the extra room or the "image" factor...get the new 3...not the 5.

Thanks, all for your thoughts. (I'm the bozzo that started this thread...)

I'm going to contentedly await getting the 530xi. I am sooooooo bad with delayed gratification. (I've been to the BMW website about 5 times today, looking at colors....)

Other than the size difference, I'm not sure why one would choose a 5- over a 3-series.

besides the fact that the E90 is a horrible disappointment in boring design, the E60 is a better car in every way, imho

m630,

I agree with you. But, it probably handles better than the E60. You think?

Hold out for the 530, ARG. You'll be the happiest guy in town once you get it.

So do what I did and go bi-monthly and buy something from accessories department for your car. It's a great hold-over technique. Going to the dealer also makes you feel like you have the car and keeps you in front of the people you'll be dealing with later which gave me a head-start on deals personal service. It will also help you feel like you're not spending as much money as you really are...if you buy all your accessories at once! Start with a scale model of your car in the color you ordered.
