My girlfriend just purchased a 2007 530d here in Germany. It has BMW Professional DVD Navi and we are told that it has the HiFi Professional Logic 7 sound system.

How can we tell if this is the system that is on the car?

I would like to know as well.

 

Easiest way is to look for the center channel speaker in the middle of the dash toward the windshield.

Also, there will be a sub menu for the surround options in I-Drive

 

I found out I had L7 when I first put a cd in, pretty unmistakable difference from a regular stereo. Aren't the subs under the front seat or something like that? May be another easy way to tell.

 

What am I looking for? Will it say Logic 7 on there? Thanks.

 

In my iDrive it says "L7" on the upper edge of the screen when I go to "tone" folder.

edit: I also have the 7 channel equalizer in iDrive. I don't know if it comes with any other OEM stereo setup...?

 

Agreed... Mine is the crappy standard. Only options on iDrive is balance, treble and bass. Its not that loud either.

another way you can tell if you have L7 is if you have an equalizer option as well as a surround sound/stereo option.

 

Pretty much what most peoople here said:

-Access your iDrive menu (press menu button and press straight down on the knob)
-Go to your audio settings and you should have an equilizer and option to choose surround sound method and it should say Logic 7 or L7 somewhere

Also, if you pump up the bass and you can feel the sub, then chances are you have it also.
