My car is at the NJ Preperation Center. How long does it usually stay there? I am getting very impatient!

Assuming it is a new car and not a European Delivery car, should be around 7-10 days from landing to arrival at dealership, assuming no delays at the VPC or damage in transit to repair. ED cars apparently get bumped in favor of new cars at the VPC so they take longer...

My car arrived at Port Neat 12/18 and was released from VPC 12/20.

It kinda helps to make friends with the Sales Manager!

My car arrived at Charleston 12/29, VPC 12/30, released 12/31, in transit to dealer 1/1. Seems they are making an effort to really move on the Priority Ones. Let's hope they're not moving too fast.

You east coast guys must have some clout. My car has been at the Oxnard VPC since 12/15/04. No word since then except some lame excuses. Hopefully I'll get it next week.

Yeah, I really don't know whats up with Oxnard. Either they're really, really swamped, in which case that's a management issue, or there just complacent, in which thats a management issue. My car actually arrived at the dealer on 12/31 after arriving at port on 12/29!

Yes, the Oxnard VPC seems to be a mess. I have other related posts on this board on that topic. My ED 545 was dropped on 10/22 in Zurich, arrived Hueneme on 12/4, cleared customs/ag on 12/7 and I still do not have it. I was previously promissed delivery on 12/21, then 12/25 (that made a lof sense considering the VPC was closed 12/24 - 12/17) and now it simply shows as "released to carrier". I have emailed everyone I can at BMW NA and Group in Germany, including Hemlut Panke, CEO. Their response has been underwhelming. I am now at 10 weeks and two days. I think ED has taken last priority in order for BMW to deliver and collect payment on cars that have been ordered but not been paid for yet. I know of others on this board who have already received their ordered cars that arrived well after mine. My dealer seems to have no influence and appears to be getting the run-around on the status of a number of cars. He says they don't even have any 530's in stock now.

That really blows. I feel your pain. I know I would be ripping my hair out by now.
