Yes sir, turning the wheel and driving it around made those nasty messages go away. No noticeable coolant leaks at this point either. Good to go.
Next will be tranny fluid and pan/filter change. Oh joy.....

When changing transmission fluid, best to replace the 4 cylindrical and one rectangular sealing sleeves as well. If you are going to change the mechatronics sleeve, make sure that you can get the old one out. Not off, but out. I got mine off, but was unable to get it out. I ended up towing it to the dealership. In hindsight, and the next time I do it, I will likely shave off some of the aluminum casings that get in the way. Only need a mm or so. This will make sense after you get under your car. The xi versions of the car add an additional level of complexity.

I got my parts from Pelican Parts. I asked him to send any other needed parts besides the pan and bolts, so he sent me one round sealing sleeve and the round connector socket for the Auto Trans Valve Body. And a new fill plug. That's all he sent. Sounds like I should have ordered more sleeves.

See https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...24152333907kt3. You need to drop the valve body to access the seeling sleeves. Not difficult, but may require an additional liter of trans fluid. Prior to 100k, these sleeves harden and result in hard shifts.

. Getting the mechatronics sleeve (the connector wherein the wiring harness connects to) is more difficult on the xi. Torque the valve body down, then wait a few minutes and do it again, as the rubber sleeves compress a bit.
