If you've tried to manual bleed the water pump a few times and the pump won't go on, you can check the pump functionality with INPA / ISTA.

Okay, I have the Schwaben Professional Scanner and I am just getting familiar with it. I believe that you are referring to component test feature? I have not tried using that yet.

Thank you!

I have not used that Schwaben device, but you should be able to activate the water pump with it.

Its binary. The water pump is going to work or its not going to work.

Is it possible that you are not pressing the gas pedal down far enough?

On my scanner I found the feature that walks you through the cooling system bleed. It says to turn on the heater blower to low. I cannot get it to run at all. Nor will the headlights go on. Will the blower turn on when the ignition is on but the engine is not running?

I thought that I might not be pressing hard enough so I have done it several times pressing good and hard. Still won't kick on.
I cannot locate a fuse for the pump. It must be in a fuse that controls a group of items. Should the heater fan run with the ignition only?

The ignition needs to be in the accessory position to bleed the system. Put key in ignition, press start button WITHOUT depressing the brake pedal.

When in the accessory mode, headlights and blower motor will be active.

If your headlights / blower are not functional, I would suspect the battery is not sufficiently charged. This would likely prevent the engagement of the water pump.

This may be my whole problem. I did not press the start button. I only had the key fob in the slot. Oh my. I feel quite silly.

That was it. It is now running. How did I miss that? I get the "dummy of the day" award. Thank you tstiglich. I owe you a lunch if you ever get to Cincy. I am very grateful. Thought I had messed up the installation somehow.
Now to get rid of the 4X4 and DSC malfunction warning.
