I want to change my power steering fluid. I have found random posts with pieces of information, but nothing definitive. Can anyone tell me the best and proper fluid to use for this make and model?

Thank you,

2006 525 XI

Here's the link that the above search takes you to: http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E60-525...uid/ES1306675/

Why? Because fuck lmgtfy. You're not contributing anything by posting that.
It irks me to no end when I'm the one Googling for something, and I find a forum where someone is describing the exact same problem I have! ... only to find that the first post is a lmgtfy link or just someone ranting off about searching the forums.

It's most likely Pentosin CHF11S. You can check for a green label (item #12) on top of the power steering fluid reservoir. This stuff seems to be readily available. For example, my local Napa store carries it.

Glad to help!

Now you're on the hook to report back on which fluid you used, what drain & fill protocol you employed, and how the whole mess turned out.

Regards,
Jim / crewzer

Not entirely sure about mine. New car and I'm just figuring things out (embarrassing, I know).
