Power loss in Manual 6 speed 530i
It has to be a computer programming issue. I have been driving BMW's for 20 years. This is the first model I have own that has so much computer motor interface. And a major problem, is you have a mechanic attempting to use a computer to fix your car. They know how to use a wrench ... but a computer ... are you kidding me. I work in the computer field, and one thing I know is one small problem fixed improperly, can become a Moby Dick!!! TRAIN THOSE MECHANICS!
Come to think of it now, I remember how I was yelling at automotive computers when my 545 stalled suddenly in the middle of the busiest intersection in town, during rush hour, and wouldn't restart for 20 seconds.
I feel your pain man, but what can you do? Keep on trucking.

He's not the first one. This is the major problem with our car, and I've been complaining about it since day one-- to the dealer, and on the boards. And BMW is very difficult to deal with. They say it is acceptable to need to double clutch in order to engage the gear. They say this is normal. They will not accept this as a problem and will not do a buyback on the car. We had to resort to actually suing for Lemon Law, and even though we have a court date, they still haven't offered to settle.
There are also quite a few other people with this problem.
