Not bad results. It looks like for 550i 15-20 MPG is the range for city driving and 20-25 mpg for highway driving.

I can deal with that

my car goes between 11-14 L/100 km. (mix highway and city) US: between 16 - 21 mpg... in which is perfect for V8 engines.

Cumulative Avg = 22.91mpg - - based on every drop of gasoline consumed in 32,915 miles.

I record my fuel consumption with an app on my Palm and get mileage by tank, cumulative, miles driven per day by tank, price per gallon, etc. It's handy for tax purposes too.

addition to that, if you use twitter, you can simply tweet the miles driven, price, gallons filled info and it will update on your fuelfrog so you
don't have to visit the site to enter info. I just text tweet while fueling.
