My neighbor is the GM of the local BMW dealership and has been driving a 530i back and forth to work as a demo car. He has about 3000 miles on the car and mentioned that he's seen a significant increase in performance since he first drove off the lot. He mentioned at least a 15% performance increase. He babied the car from 0-1000 miles and has driven hard from 1000-3000 miles. He said these cars need to be driven hard to achieve full performance capabilities. Has anyone else seen the performance increase from 1000 miles on? I'm at 1100 miles and enjoying the post break-in period...the 545 is an absolute rocket-ship. I'm lovin' red lights when I'm first in line...can't wait for the 18yr old to pull up next to me in his red Ford Mustang so I can abuse him...

Don't know if it's the car getting more used to me or I am pushing the car more now as I get more comfortable and confident with it's handling... I have 5400 miles now and I have enjoyed every one! You are correct in stating it's a rocket ship.

I just got back from a weekend driving up Pacific Coast Highway in California... I had a rental but I would have LOVED to have my 545i on those roads!!!
