sup guys i got this letter in the mail address to me pretty much saying a warranty on my car is about to expire and i could call this number to renew. the letter didn't show my vin on it but had the year of my car. As far as I know the previous owner told me he had purchased the car cpo with warranty but i had ran out does any one recognize this paper work I'm wondering if this is legit or some sort of scam. I blocked out my addresss but the marker went through it basically says extended automobile coverage, new coverage , gold coverage platinum coverage, no fee payment.

i've gotten those before. i assume they get your vehicle data from some public database, and then send you a notice offerring warranty coverage. i just throw it away.

+1 ... government agency data bases (auto registrations) and car manufacturer data bases are mined regularly ... that's how they 'know' you and your car are reaching the end of the manufacturer's warranty. I usually trash these instantly! That said, they help keep the US Postal Service afloat.
