I'm driving on the Mass Pike today, try to enter a destination in the NAV but it is non responsive.
Then, it starts spinning very fast. It keeps doing it for about 3 minutes.
Throughout my drive it happened off and on.
I'm talking to a friend of mine and mention what had happened when all of the sudden the knob starts spinning again - just like it heard me. Scary!!

One of the older service bulletins referred to this issue i believe. I'll take a look tonight and see if I can find it.

Later - it was supposedly an issue and fixed with CIP 16.1 and YOU have been able to resurrect it on 19.1, aren't you special

This happened to me when I was test driving a car. The look on the face of the poor sales guy was hilarious. He was absolutely speechless.

This forum helped me figure it out.

Check out post http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=13746 for the details on the software levels.

If you like, you can check out the thread I started on this topic in July: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=14142

Thanks.

Got a call from my SA today.
He wants to change the knob motor.
Somehow I don't think that is the problem.

I was able to reproduce it.
The knob would spin if I was on a phone call (bluetooth).
As soon as I terminated the call, the knob stopped.
