So what if somebody slaps an "M" on a non-M car? Who really cares? <_<
Those of us who know the cars will see through it no matter what badge they slap on it. Those who don't know BMW's don't deserve to know any differently anyway.
I'd personally love to take my 545 and smoke some dude who has an M badge on his 525.

Maybe I came across as in a sour mood or something. What I meant was, why waste time on those silly people with fake M's? You guys and gals on this board as SOOOOO much more interesting and actually very knowledgeable about the cars, must be better things to chat about.
BTW, I loooove my 545 and would never take the badge off. Actually, to pick a little bit of a fight I think those who get real M's are almost as silly as those who fake them.
Not to hijack the thread, but what are you going to do with an M5 anyway? Outrun me on the freeway? I don't think so, you'd be a nut-case to do over 110-120 mph on most freeways and I can do that easy in a 545. What else will you do, beat me off the line at the red light? Maybe, but my 545 isn't exactly a Saturn minivan so unless we're at a drag strip I'll catch you in a second at the next intersection/light. At the track -- you have an advantage, but honestly how many take our precious beasts to the track more than a handful of times each year? So you get a little more, and in exchange you paid $20-30k more than I did? Shame on you, you should have showered your wife with more gifts and you'd enjoy more than a few seconds lead time over me on the street
